This video of a water buffalo herd standing up to a pride of lions to rescue their young calf is amazing! I’ve always heard stories about water buffaloes and how they are the most dangerous large mammals in Africa besides the hippo. I’m surprised the calf was still alive. Usually an experienced lioness would have killed it pretty quickly.

That’s a huge herd of water buffalo also. I’ve never seen such a large gathering on film ever. The best part is when the lion gets gored and thrown into the air. At least it looks like it’s getting gored.
